BRB2K Privacy Policy

BRB2K is a nostalgic instant-messaging app where users chat with AI personas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how AI processing works, and the choices and rights available to you.

Please do not share highly sensitive personal information, health information, financial information, government ID numbers, passwords, or other secrets in chats. BRB2K AI buddies are for entertainment and companionship, not professional advice or emergency support.

When you send a chat message, recent conversation context, persona instructions, and related feature data may be sent through our Cloudflare Worker to Anthropic's AI API to generate a response. AI responses are probabilistic and may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, unexpected, or unsuitable for your situation. You should not rely on BRB2K for medical, legal, financial, mental-health, safety, or other professional advice.

We may use automated systems, provider safety tools, and manual review of reported content to detect abuse, troubleshoot issues, enforce our Terms, and improve safety. We do not sell your conversation content to advertisers.

5. User-to-User Communications

BRB2K is currently focused on AI persona chats. If BRB2K offers user-to-user messaging, profiles, friend requests, groups, shared content areas, or similar social features in the future, we may collect and store the messages, profile details, screen names, reports, blocks, moderation actions, and related metadata needed to provide and protect those features.

User-to-user content may be visible to the recipients or groups you choose. Recipients may save, copy, screenshot, report, or share that content outside BRB2K, so you should not share sensitive personal information, passwords, financial information, private images, or anything you would not want another person to keep.

User-to-user messages will not be guaranteed to be private or end-to-end encrypted unless we expressly say so in the app. We may use automated tools, provider tools, and human review to detect spam, harassment, exploitation, threats, illegal content, policy violations, or safety risks. We may review reported messages and related account information, take enforcement action, and retain limited records where needed for safety, legal compliance, dispute handling, or abuse prevention.

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal bases may include: performance of a contract to provide BRB2K; legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, support, and product improvement; consent where required; and compliance with legal obligations.

We retain account data, conversation history, AI memory, and related feature data while your account is active or as needed to provide BRB2K. We delete or de-identify data after a verified deletion request unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute, or abuse-prevention purposes. Backup, logging, and security systems may retain residual copies for a limited period before automatic deletion.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing by contacting privacy@betterthingsbetter.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Depending on your location, you may also have the right to withdraw consent or complain to a data protection authority.

California residents may request to know, access, correct, or delete personal information and may opt out of sale or sharing where applicable. BRB2K does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under California privacy law.

11. Deletion Requests

To request deletion, email privacy@betterthingsbetter.com from the recovery email associated with your account, or include enough account details for us to verify ownership. Deletion may remove your screen name, profile data, chat history, AI memory, usage counters, and account records, except for limited records we must keep for legal, payment, tax, safety, or abuse-prevention reasons.

12. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including authentication, access controls, server-side API keys, and database rules. No online service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your device and account credentials secure.

13. Children

BRB2K is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as BRB2K changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice as appropriate, such as by updating the effective date, posting notice, or asking for renewed consent where required.
